This web site page is designed to give you information about setting up and navigating through the Integrated Value Compass Quality Desktop™.

There are several steps you will need to go through. These will take you about 10 minutes to complete. Please note that this will be a one-time event. Once you have completed these steps, you will be able to access the Integrated Value Compass Quality Desktop™ by clicking on the icon that you will have created through completion of the seven steps listed below.

The basic steps you will complete are as follows:

1. Print relevant documents
2. Close all running applications
3. Click on Sun Java link
4. Download Sun Java to your PC
5. Install Sun Java on your PC
6. Verify your approval to access the program
7. Access the reporting system

1. Print Relevant Documents

The following links will provide you with printed materials that can be used as references for installing Sun Java and navigating the new system.

DOCUMENT	DESCRIPTION
Java JRE / Web Start Setup Guide	This document helps you set up your computer with the appropriate version of the Sun Java Software.
QD3 User Manual	This document gives you information on navigating the latest version of the Integrated Value Compass Quality Desktop™.




2. Close all running applications

Be sure to close all running applications on your computer.




3. Click on Sun Java Link

To access the Integrated Value Compass™ and Quality Desktop™ you will need to ensure that you have downloaded and installed the latest version Sun Java Run-Time Engine (JRE). To download this please click here:

4-6. Click on Sun Java Link

To complete steps 4-6, please refer to your QD3SetupGuide.doc for detailed step by step instructions.

NOTE: If you are asked what application you would like to use to open the .jnlp file, please choose javaws.exe from the list. If you don't choose this, the application will not work until you go to the Start->Control Panel->File Types and choose javaws.exe for .jnlp files.




7. Access the Software

Once you have completed steps 4-6 you will reach a screen that allows you to access your organization's data. You can contact your internal quality resource person to obtain specific information about logging into the site.
